The Department of Development and Co-operation (E&Z) at the Federal Academy for Orthopaedic Technology assists O&P training projects worldwide. Usually the projects are located in developing- and transition countries and supported by international operating organizations such as the "Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ)" or other non- governmental organisations and international health consultants.
Measures for the support of the project activities are:
- Planning and carrying
out practice seminars as training modules within all ranges of Orthopaedic
Technology
- Planning and carrying out external intermediate and final examinations in
O&P Training Institutions
- Preparation of didactical material for practical training in all ranges
of Orthopaedic Technology
- Independent assistance during the planning and set-up of Technical Orthopaedic
Training Centres in developing- and transition countries by working out and
supplying individual equipment and material lists.
- Consultant activities for project planning and evaluation
- Assistance during basic and advanced training courses of foreign governmental
scholarship holders in the field of Orthopaedic Technology
