INTERBOR was founded in 1958 in Brussels (Belgium). At that time a group
of people, mostly orthopaedic suppliers, discussed the position of the P&O
profession in view of the globalisation; Brussels was then hosting the International
World exhibition.Their goal “to achieve a better international understanding
between colleagues and recognition of the P&O profession” is still
to be found in the INTERBOR objective.Today INTERBOR represents the interests
of P&O associations from all over the world to an international level,
i.e. European Union, International Red Cross, ISPO and many other agencies
related to our working field. BUFA is member in the INTERBOR Education Committee
since 1969. INTERBOR recognizes the BUFA Diploma as the highest professional
level in the field of P&O.
